  10. Web based calculus applications

Nine interactive models help students to experiment with concepts in calculus. Java applets are used as simulations for the user to test mathematical analysis of waves, parachute drops, radar, diving from a tower, ship movements, deck areas, aircraft wing volume, torque and the slope of a hill. With each exercise the user's input produces a graph or diagram. A review of the mathematics related to the simulation is provided and students are encouraged to provide feedback on the effectiveness of the models in helping them to learn.
