  1. Black Inventor Online Museum

A look at the great and often unrecognized pioneers in the field of invention and innovation.

  2. Engineering Research Centers

The National Science Foundation-sponsored Engineering Research Centers (ERCs) are a group of engineered systems-focused, interdisciplinary centers located at universities all across the United States, each in close partnership with industry. ERCs provide an environment in which academe and industry can collaborate in pursuing strategic advances in complex engineered systems and systems-level technologies important for the Nation's future. Activity within ERCs lies at the interface between the discovery-driven culture of science and the innovation-driven culture of engineering. The centers provide the intellectual foundation for industry to collaborate with faculty and students on resolving generic, long-range challenges, producing the knowledge base needed for steady advances in technology and their speedy transition to the marketplace.

  3. BUBL News

BUBL has retained a strong library element, but now provides a subject-based service to the academic and research community more generally, this via the BUBL LINK Subject Tree.

  4. Rollup.org

A rollup is an automated blog that aggregates (rolls up) a number of different sources. Using RSS feeds you can create your own rollup for any topic.

  5. Nanocircuits flex tech muscle

The flexible nanoelectronic circuit Bedell and Shahrjedri designed is 10,000 times thinner than a piece of paper, and was peeled off of a silicon wafer and put onto plastic – an industry first. These circuits are also easily transferrable at any size, arbitrary in shape, and compatible with any flexible substrate.

  6. Cognitive systems: A new era of computing

We now are entering the Cognitive Systems Era, in which a new generation of computing systems is emerging with embedded data analytics, automated management and data-centric architectures in which the storage, memory, switching and processing are moving ever closer to the data.

  7. Digital Communication IC Design

The mission of the Digital Communication IC Design group is to advance the state-of-the-art in digital design and design methodology. One current active area of research is computational accelerators and related system architectures using reconfigurable FPGA logic. In addition, the group is responsible for the design, verification, and integration of digital macros used in high-speed serial cores, mmWave circuits, as well as optics modules developed by its sister groups within the department.

  8. ARKive

ARKive is a not-for-profit initiative of The Wildscreen Trust. It is the Noah's Ark for the Internet era - the world's centralised digital library of films, photographs and associated recordings of species, accessible to all via the world wide web.

  9. Adiuri Systems Ltd

Adiuri Systems Ltd was formed in 2002 to commercially develop the research work carried out by the Universities of Bath and Bristol as part of the IDEA (Information for Design Engineering in Aerospace) project.

  10. Awareness Watch

Produced by Marcus P. Zillman, M.S., A.M.H.A. Awareness Watch Newsletter is a brand new monthly publication (inauguration issue December 2003) that will highlight the latest resources and sites on the Internet that pertain to current awareness happenings and alerts.

  11. Ay-Up

We are a new search engine based in Vancouver, we are working on Geo Sync Search and Search Personalization Technology.

  12. Deep Content: Guide to Effective Searching of the Internet

Described by the Internet Scout Project: "This outstanding website is, without question, one of the most comprehensive online resources for learning efficient Internet search techniques.

  13. Design Science

Design Science has tailored software solutions to the needs of authors, publishers, educators, engineers, and scientists. Products include MathType and MathPlayer.

  14. eurekster

eurekster is a search engine with personalized results.

  15. SAIL-eprints

SAIL-eprints (Search, Alert, Impact and Link) is an electronic open access service provider for finding scientific or technical documents, published or unpublished, in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Materials Sciences, Nanotechnologies, Microelectronics, Computer Sciences, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Earth Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography, Agricolture, and related application activities.

  16. ASCE Career Connections

Engineering employers can post job listings in real time, track online activity to measure advertising results, search our resume database for matching candidates, and receive email notifications of new prospects. Engineers can post and update their resumes, search the job listing database, receive emails of jobs that match their profile, and apply for jobs directly from our website.

  17. LTSN Engineering Resource Database

This is a searchable list of all LTSN Engineering Resources.

  18. SEEL: Systems Engineering Economics Laboratory

SEEL, the Systems Engineering Economics Laboratory is an applied research and development (ARD) facility concerned with the identification of improved techniques for using state of the art technology.

  19. Update on engineering information resources

At Online Information 2003 I gave a short presentation entitled "Update on engineering information resources". This Powerpoint presentation includes some slides which may seem odd without the commentary (especially the references to Muhammad Ali), but some slides may be useful to show what the main online services have been doing recently in the area of engineering.

  20. Center for Advanced Computing Research: CACR

In 1995, the Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR) was established to ensure that Caltech and its Jet Propulsion Laboratory will be at the forefront of computational science and engineering (CS&E).
