  1. Science and Technology Facilities Council

    Formed by Royal Charter in 2007 (by combining CCLRC and PPARC), the Science and Technology Facilities Council is one of Europe's largest multidisciplinary research organisations supporting scientists and engineers world-wide. The Council operates world-class, large scale research facilities and provides strategic advice to the UK government on their development. It also manages international research projects in support of a broad cross-section of the UK research community. The Council also directs, coordinates and funds research, education and training.


  2. Statistics Resources

  3. The Depot

    The purpose of the Depot, as a national facility, is to enable all UK academics to share in the benefits of open access exposure for their research outputs.   7. CYCLADES

    CYCLADES is developing an open collaborative virtual archive service environment supporting both single scholars as well as scholarly communities in carrying out their work. In particular, it will provide functionality to access large, heterogeneous, multidisciplinary archives distributed over the Web and to support remote collaboration among the members of communities of interest.

    Geo-Leo searches approximately 4 million geoscience and mining related bibliographical records from the catalogues of the UBF - part of the Cataloging Union in South Western Germany (SWB), the SUB - part of the Common Library Network (GBV) and the Bibliothek des Wissenschaftsparks Albert Einstein in Potsdam, the Erdbibliothek of the ETH Zürich - part of the Network of Libraries and Information Centers in Switzerland (NEBIS) and the Geographische Zentralbibliothek

  15. Committee on Institutional Cooperation

    The CIC is a consortium of 12 research universities, including the 11 members of the Big Ten Conference and the University of Chicago. With campuses in 8 states, CIC universities enroll more than 300,000 undergraduates and 76,000 graduate students, and employ some 33,000 full-time faculty and 139,000 full-time staff.
