  1. Utah State OpenCourseWare

    More and more universities are joining up to offer a variety of course materials through the OpenCourseWare project, and Utah State University is now one of the partner institutions involved in this laudable venture. This site is made possible by funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and visitors will be delighted to learn that they can make their way through course materials from over a dozen departments, such as anthropology, economics, electrical and computer engineering, and wildland resources. Within each department, visitors will also note that there are tabs that allow them to email a friend about the course and also link up to an RSS feed. There are some great course materials here, including those from "Introduction to Writing" and the "History of Utah"


  2. Math Gateway of the Mathematical Association of America [pdf]

    Created through a partnership with the National Science Digital Library (NSDL), the Math Gateway was developed by the Mathematical Association of America. The site provides a veritable cornucopia of information for educators and those who are curious about anything from algebra to the history of mathematics. Visitors can start their exploration through the site by using the search engine at the top-left hand corner, or they look at the "content Highlights" displayed prominently here. Some of these highlights include tips for writing an interactive mathematics text, using statistical samples from a real estate database, and so on. The site also encourages visitors to register for membership, which will allow them to create their own personalized library of resources. Rounding out the site is a selection of tips for searching the materials here and a fun "This Day in Mathematics" feature.


  3. Mathematics for Economics: Enhancing Teaching and Learning (ME:TAL)

    Working at the University of Nottingham, Dr. Rebecca Taylor and her colleagues have created this very fine set of resources designed to assist teachers who seek to utilize mathematics in the service of teaching economics. Visitors can learn more about their work in the "About the Team" section, and they can also view a summary of the project's work so far. The real heart of the site is contained within the "Resource Room", which contains streaming videos, teaching and learning guides, and a question bank. Visitors may wish to start with the question bank, which contains files that can be used in problem sheets, assessment exercises and tutorials. The exercises include those drawing on algebra, number theory, and differentiation. Moving on, the site also includes teaching and learning guides that address linear equations, finance growth, and either other topics.


  4. Development Gateway Foundation

    Development Gateway Foundation is an international nonprofit organization with the mission to reduce poverty and enable change in developing nations through information technology.

    It envisions a world in which the digital revolution serves people everywhere-creating greater opportunity through increased access to critical information; greater reliance on local capabilities; and more effective, better coordinated international aid.

    dgCommunities is a collaborative space for professionals working to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development worldwide. Share knowledge, tools, contacts, and more with members in 200 countries. Each online community is centered on specific themes and guided by experts in the field. Thousands of information resource links are included, plus valuable member services.

    In this site you'll find a clearinghouse for a wide range of OERs including: Learning content (full courses, courseware, content modules, learning objects, collections and journals); Tools (software to support the development, use, re-use and delivery of learning content including searching and organization of content, content and learning management systems, content development tools, and on-line learning communities); Implementation Resources (intellectual property licenses to promote open publishing of materials, design principles of best practice, and localization of content)


  6. MICA-EDC

    MICA-EDC is an initiative of MICA, set up with the support of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, with the purpose of fostering entrepreneurship in the communications driven initiatives as well as promoting corporate entrepreneurship in the communications industry.

    MICA-EDC is a centre of excellence of MICA, which conducts post graduate programmes in the area of communications management, offers business support services including skill assessment, market research and profiling studies and publications specific to entrepreneurship in the communication sector. MICA-EDC is in a process of setting first of its kind Com-cubator, an Incubation Centre specifically for communications sector to commercialize and nurture ideas and innovations.


  7. Euro-India ICT Co-operation Initiative

    The Euro-India ICT Co-operation helps bridge the gap between research and exploitation by showcasing complementary activities between Europeans & Indians, engage in ICT discussions & find potential partners for commercial or research collaborations namely future Information Society Technologies (IST) Calls.


  8. Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS)

    Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) formerly known as Centre for Spatial Database Management and Solutions, is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), located at Noida.

    Founded in April 1997, CSDMS is committed to advocacy and developing solutions for under-privileged societies through the use of innovative and effective Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Its various activities are targeted to meet the needs of society in the development sector through research in the field of GIS and ICT, undertaking development projects in Geo-ICT, through appropriate knowledge-sharing tools and products like print and electronic media, and building capacity through training programmes. Our multi-cultural team has expertise from across disciplines.


  9. Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme

    The Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme (APDIP) is an initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that aims to promote the development and application of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for sustainable human development in the Asia-Pacific region.


  10. UNDP-APDIP International Open Source Network (IOSN)

    The International Open Source Network (IOSN) is a Center of Excellence for FOSS in the Asia-Pacific Region. It shapes its activities around Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) technologies and applications. Via a small secretariat based at the UNDP Regional Centre in Bangkok and three centres of excellence-IOSN ASEAN+3, IOSN PIC (Pacific Island Countries), and IOSN South Asia, based in Manila, Suva and Chennai respectively, the IOSN is tasked specifically to facilitate and network FOSS advocates and human resources in the region. The vision is that developing countries in the Asia-Pacific Region can achieve rapid and sustained economic and social development by using affordable yet effective FOSS ICT solutions to bridge the digital divide.


  11. ICT Research and Training Portal

    The primary purpose of the ICT Research and Training Portal is to provide and spread information on DGF Research and Training center projects, its activities, events, ICT resources developed at the center in India etc.

    This portal serves as a medium for resource sharing among other organizations addressing the digital divide and, combining all these for knowledge and resource sharing with the ultimate goal to benifit all researchers in the field, technical collaborators and common people.


  12. Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI)

    The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) was constituted in 1995 as a registered, non-profit, non-governmental society dedicated to the advancement of communication, particularly modern communication through Cellular Mobile Telephone Services.

    With a vision to establish and sustain a world-class cellular infrastructure and facilitate affordable mobile communication services in India, COAI' main objectives are to protect the common & collective interests of its members.


  13. Nanomission (DST, Govt. of India)

    The Nano Mission is an umbrella programme for capacity building which envisages the overall development of this field of research in the country and to tap some of its applied potential for nation's development.


  14. SatNav Technologies

    The flagship venture is SatNav Technologies, one of India's early starters in the IT Products space and in GPS products space, offering a wide array of Products both Off-the-shelf as well as customizable, for both the B2B and the B2C markets. The criteria to choose a particular product area are the high growth potential, current lack of competition and the projected market demand for the same.

    SatNav is introducing voice prompts related to directions in eight Indian languages, this could be one of the major factors for mass market expansion of the GPS Navigation space, which is fast growing in India. Also it has made another major technology enhancement in maps; they are available in HLG (High Level Graph) which offeres a host of benefits to users.   15. Asia Nano Forum (ANF)

    The Asia Nano Forum (ANF) is a network organization, founded in May 2004, to promote excellence in research, development and the economic uptake of nanotechnology within the Asian region. This collaborative network seeks to benefit its member economies educationally, socially, environmentally and economically by fostering collaboration and acting as a focus for regional and global nanotechnology issues. Asia Nano Forum (ANF) Network is supported by 13 economies in the Asia Pacific Region including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.


  16. Euro Nano Forum

    Nanoforum was originally funded by the European Commission through FP5. Since July 2007 it has been operating as a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), giving it legal status and the ability to enter into contracts with other parties, including tenders and new EU-funded projects. It will continue to provide news items from across the EU including information from projects and organizations, and can now offer customers a powerful advertising and dissemination service through its network of over 15,000 registered users and a website that attracts over 100,000 visits, 400,000 page impressions and 900,000 hits each month.


  17. nanonet

    nano introduces various information on top nanotechnology through its website and in JNNB, an e-mail newsletter. Another main function of nanonet is to organize symposiums and workshops for researchers to share the latest issues of nanotechnology.


  18. National Nanotechnology Initiative of US (NNI)

    The National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) is the program established in fiscal year 2001 to coordinate Federal nanotechnology research and development.

    The NNI provides a vision of the long-term opportunities and benefits of nanotechnology. By serving as a central locus for communication, cooperation, and collaboration for all Federal agencies that wish to participate, the NNI brings together the expertise needed to guide and support the advancement of this broad and complex field.


  19. Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum

    The Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum (APNF) offers a unique platform for networking across the Asia region between governments, developing industry, venture capital, and R&D Centres.

    The Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum is an independent non-government, not for profit organization, which facilitates the coordination of Nanotechnology development and programs and cross regional collaborations among Government policy makers, industry , R&D institutions, and leading researchers.


  20. Department of BioTechnology (DBT), Govt. of India

    The setting up of a separate Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science and Technology in 1986 gave a new impetus to the development of the field of modern biology and biotechnology in India. In more than a decade of its existence, the department has promoted and accelerated the pace of development of biotechnology in the country. Through several R&D projects, demonstrations and creation of infrastructural facilities a clear visible impact of this field has been seen. The department has made significant achievements in the growth and application of biotechnology in the broad areas of agriculture, health care, animal sciences, environment, and industry.
