  1. National Innovation Centre [NIF]

    The Department of Science and Technology established National Innovation Foundation (NIF) of India, on March 1, 2000, with the main goal of providing institutional support in scouting, spawning, sustaining and scaling up grassroots green innovations and helping their transition to self supporting activities. For the last seventeen years the Honeybee Network and Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions (SRISTI) have been scouting innovations by farmers, artisans, women, etc. at the grassroots level.


  2. Technology Innovation Management Entrepreneurship Information Services [TIME]

    A Joint Project of NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It aims at assisting techno-preneurs to find technologies, projects, funding options and information about policy environment, incentive schemes and industrial infrastructure available in the country covering both the central and state governments.


  3. Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship [CIIE]

    CIIE was setup by IIM, Ahmedabad in 2001 and is supported by Government of Gujarat as well as the National Innovation Foundation. Since then, a host of organizations, professionals, academicians and networking partners within India and across the globe have been closely associated with the initiatives of CIIE. Some of the ongoing projects are also being backed by Wadhwani Foundation (set up by IT entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, USA) and the TBI incubator is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

    CIIE offers incubation support to outstanding high-tech and mass impact innovations. The incubation suite provided by CIIE to its incubatees includes infrastructure and networking support apart from dedicated mentoring from experts.


  4. Society for Innovation and Development [SID]

    The Society for Innovation and Development (SID) was founded in the year 1991, in close collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.

    The mission of SID is to enable India's innovations in science and technology by creating a purposeful and effective channel to help and assist industries and business establishments to compete and prosper in the face of global competition, turbulent market conditions and fast moving technologies. SID strives to bring the leading intellectuals of IISc and the fruits of their research and development efforts closer to industries and business establishments in a cordial atmosphere with prosperity of the Nation as the ultimate goal.


  5. Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship [SINE]

    SINE, Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, hosted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay- IIT Bombay umbrella for promotion of entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay. SINE administers a business incubator which provides support for technology based entrepreneurship. Thus, SINE extends the role of IIT Bombay by facilitating the conversion of research activity into entrepreneurial ventures.


  6. Kresit Business Incubator

    The Business Incubator (BI) of the Kanwal Rekhi School of Information Technology was envisaged as an integral part of the school, to foster the idea of entrepreneurship, and its integration with the creation of new ideas. The BI serves a launching pad for enthusiastic entrepreneurs having innovative propositions related to Information technology. There has been a major impetus to the pilot incubator set up in 2000, inspired by the success of IIT Bombay alumni in various organizations in India, Europe and the USA.

    Since its inception, eleven companies have been incubated. At present, there are six companies operating out of the BI.


  7. Life Science Incubator

    To encourage and nurture startup companies and spin offs in pharmaceutical and biotechnology related areas, ICICI Knowledge Park has set up a Life Science Incubator (LSI) with an incubation space of around 3.200 sft for 8 dedicated incubation units. Incubation facility is offered to incubatees for a maximum of 3-year lease period.


  8. Nirma Labs

    NirmaLabs, the most recent initiative of Nirma Education and Research Foundation-NERF, is an incubator to spawn High Tech Knowledge based Wealth Generation ventures. The basic idea is to identify individuals with technical knowledge and experience, bring them to NirmaLabs campus, and groom them to evolve project plans for high tech wealth generation ventures. Such projects and teams will then be seed funded and incubated to bring the concept to venture fundable level. NERF is putting in the initial seed fund.

    This initiative of incubating individuals by NirmaLabs, is different in the sense that it will invest on persons rather than on their current ideas.


  9. IBM Research Lab

    The IBM India Research Laboratory (IRL) was established in April 1998 in New Delhi as the eighth of IBM's research labs. The lab expanded to its second site, Bangalore, in August 2005. IRL has a world-class team of researchers who have been recognized for their thought leadership and have developed innovations that help differentiate IBM both in the region and globally.


  10. SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre IIT Kanpur

    IIT Kanpur has set up the SIDBI Innovation & Incubation Centre (SIIC) in collaboration with Small Industries development Bank of India (SIDBI) to foster innovation, research, and entrepreneurial activities in technology-based areas. SIIC provides a platform to Start-ups prospective entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs to convert their innovative ideas into commercially viable products.


  11. Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer [FIIT] IIT Delhi

    FITT is the Industrial Interface of IIT Delhi. It was established at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) as a Registered Society on the 9th July 1992. The mission of FITT is to be an effective Interface with the Industry to foster, promote and sustain commercialization of Science and technology in the institute for mutual benefits. The primary objective of FITT is to market the intellectual ware of IIT to industry on competitive terms and at the same time inject industrial relevance to IITs teaching and research activities. FITT offers a flexible mechanism and a single window service to industry for making use of the expertise and facilities available and capabilities developed at IIT Delhi.


  12. Agri Business Incubator ICRISAT

    The Agri-Business Incubator (ABI) is a place where the process of starting Agri-Business ventures are catalysed by supporting the entrepreneurs with Agriculture Technology, Business Consultancy, Networking with Management Experts, Venture Capital Funding, Infrastructures and Facilities.

    The incubator maximizes success of the venture by offering the best opportunity with a minimum risk. ABI is an initiative of ICRISAT in partnership with Department of Science and Technology (DST, Govt. of India).


  13. Agri Science Park

    The Agri-Science Park is the means by which ICRISAT commercializes technology to help farmers in the Semi-Arid Tropics (SAT) through partnerships with the private and public sectors. The Agri-Science Park brings together the expertise available at ICRISAT, the State Government and renowned private sector companies.


  14. National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB)

    The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), established in 1982 by the Government of India under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology, is an institutional mechanism to help promote knowledge driven and technology intensive enterprises. The Board, having representations from socio-economic and scientific Ministries/Departments, aims to convert "job-seekers" into "job-generators" through Science & Technology (S&T) interventions.


  15. Technology Business Incubator NITC

    The National Institute of Technology Calicut has set up a Technology Business Incubator TBI-NITC with the support of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to incubate start up industries in the IT and electronics.

    The primary goal of a business incubator is to facilitate economic development by improving survival and growth of new entrepreneurial units. Incubator accelerate the development of young entrepreneurial units. Incubators accelerate the development of young entrepreneurial company from ideas stage to independent self-sustaining successful business.


  16. Vellore Institute of Technology Technology Business Incubator [VIT TBI]

    The Management of VIT, under the dynamic leadership of Chancellor Mr. G. Viswanathan has taken-up the initiative to set-up a state of the art High Technology Business Incubator (TBI), first of its kind in this region, at the VIT campus. The mission of VIT-TBI is to promote Entrepreneurship, incubating start-up ventures and offering technology development services to firms in the region where VIT is situated.

    VIT-TBI is being funded jointly by the Department of Science and Technology and VIT. VIT-TBI will have the state of the art machinery, equipment, computing facilities, communication networks, start-up friendly infrastructure, individual incubation cells with common resource sharing arrangement to support budding entrepreneurs from among students and technocrats from the region.


  17. Technology Business Incubator @ BITS Pilani

    The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India has established a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in the area of Embedded Systems and VLSI Design. BITS has also set up a Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) to give a specific boost and emphasis to entrepreneurship development. TBI jointly with CEL shall promote entrepreneurial leadership across all disciplines, facilitate entrepreneurial activity amongst students, and invite entrepreneurs to use TBI services so as to develop end products for commercialisation.


  18. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus

    The development of our society and the growth of our economy requires the empowerment of youth and their transformation from job seekers to job creators, by channelizing their creativity and energy towards successful business ventures. President A.P.J Kalam has stressed the responsibility of the University towards moulding the entrepreneurial abilities of students. The Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) at BITS, Pilani- Goa Campus is constituted in this spirit.

    Set up with the help of the CEL, BITS-Pilani, CEL, BITS-Pilani Goa is committed to provide innovative training, competent faculty support, consultancy and quality teaching & training material for the students. Its work encourages students to consider self-employment as a viable career option.


  19. National Agricultural Innovation Project, ICAR [NAIP]

    The NAIP is to facilitate accelerated and sustainable transformation of Indian agriculture in support of poverty alleviation and income generation by collaborative development and application of agricultural innovation by the public research organizations in partnership with the farmer's groups, the private sector, the civil society organizations and other stakeholders.


  20. Microsoft Research India

    Microsoft Research India, established in January 2005, is one of Microsoft's five research labs worldwide. In keeping with the global mission of Microsoft Research, Microsoft Research India is engaged in cutting-edge basic and applied research in multiple fields in computing, information technology, and related areas. In addition to innovating and contributing key technologies to Microsoft products, Microsoft Research India collaborates with a wide range of scientific and academic institutions to advance the state of the art in computing research in India. Microsoft Research India also collaborates extensively with the international scientific community and other Microsoft research labs to help push forward the boundaries of research.
